PDO THREAD LIFTS

PDO Threading is a new procedure we are performing at Pelle Spa. Our NP and all of our nurses been fully trained and earned their “expert” certification on the procedure.

what is a pdo thread lift?

A thread lift is a procedure that uses a dissolvable suture to tighten and lift your skin . It is a less

invasive procedure than facelift surgery and can often be performed in under 45 minutes without

needing to go under a scalpel.

PDO stands for Polydioxanone and have been around since the 1980’s. They are made from a

colorless polyester that breaks down in your body after about 6 months.

The presence of theses sutures in your skin triggers cells in your body called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. Collagen is the protein that gives your skin the structure and elasticity. Loss of collagen is one of the main causes of aging skin.

A thread lift can treat most parts of your face that are experiencing signs and aging. The areas around your cheeks, jaw, neck and eyes are among the most commonly threaded areas. We have also treated buttocks, breasts and knees.

Threading is a commonly used nonsurgical procedure that is used to treat mild to moderate wrinkles in the cheeks, jowls, neck and other areas with sagging skin. PDO lifts are known to restore the v-shape of your face with the use of 100% absorbable materials. The procedure is simple - a certified nurse practitioner or registered nurse (certified in the pdo threading procedure) will place the requested dissolvable sutures to lift and tighten the skin while prompting collagen growth for up to 4-9 months.
